Most expensive advent calendar showcasing luxury watches worth 1.25 million

The Swiss group CHRONEXT has announced a Christmas advent calendar so opulent, so lavish, that its value stands at €1.25 million or $2,042,397 AUD at the current conversion. Established in 2013, the company operates from 19 different locations and claims to satiate the needs of the most discerning customers.

Unlike your usual choccie advent calendar, that’s made of flimsy plastic adorned in garishly bright cardboard, this baby is crafted from high-quality wood finished in a glossy black piano lacquer. Standing at 1.25m tall, it’s obviously much bigger than the advent calendars we’re used to. The calendar features 24 illuminated doors behind it is a selection of luxury watches worth 1.25 million euros, that for each day in the lead-up to Christmas, reveal a brand new luxury watch sitting upon a leather plinth. Chronext’s team of passionate watch specialists to please avid collectors and enthusiasts has carefully curated each timepiece. There also appears to be chocolate treats behind each door.

So far, it has revealed an Audemars Piguet Royal Oak Double Balance Wheel, and a rare Patek Philippe Nautilus Ref. 3712 with a moon phase complication and an A. Lange & Söhne Richard Lange Jumping Seconds, of which there are only 100 in the world.
