Lexus launches ultra-luxury hybrid electric car in India
The market of electric vehicles is slowing beginning to take off in India. Although Indian manufacturers are a bit slow to foray, big international brands are entering the market aggressively. Lately, Toyota’s luxury segment brand Lexus launched its hybrid model in India.
The hybrid LS500h runs on both its petrol engine and lithium-ion battery. The petrol engine has a capacity of 3.5 liters while the battery boasts 310.8 kV of power. Its release report added that the car has a greater efficiency due to its hybrid engine. The car has 10-speed automatic transmission, which can offer accurate shifts in speed and gear.
Lexus LS500h is priced at rupees 1.8 Cr, but the top version might go up to 1.9 Cr. or more. It is a BS6-compliant vehicle that offer a mileage of more than 15 kilometers a liter. Per the company, the LS500h can accelerate from 0 to 100 km per hour in just 5.4 seconds.
Among other technologies equipped in the car, the Mark Levinson Quantum Logic Immersion sound system boosts its luxury ensemble. The system has 23-speakers that can offer near-live performance quality audio. The internal aesthetics of the car features wide legroom of 1,022 mm. It also features Shiatsu massage technology as a luxury addition. Other comfort features are heating functions and Ottomans in the rear.
N Raja said the LS500h is the world’s first multistage hybrid system. He commented that the car is developed to “impress and delight” India car owners. Lexus made an inroad to Indian market in March 2017. There is also a possibility that the cars will be assembled in India at the company’s Bengaluru facility. In its release, Lexus said that it is committed to support India’s cause to transform as an electric vehicle nation in near future.
