Lamborghini rolls out Super SUV Urus in Indian market at INR 3 Crores price tag
In a hefty boost to India’s luxury Automobile market, Lamborghini lunched its flagship super-SUV in India. Urus, the Super SUV, was lunched in Mumbai at an ex-showroom price of 3 Crore. The supercar brand debuted the car in Indian market after two months of global roll-out. Per Lamborghini, specs of Urus make it much more than just an SUV.
The supercar is designed as a performance sports utility vehicle featuring a 4-liter twin turbo-turbo V8 engine. The car can reach 0 to 100 km per hour speed in 3.5 seconds, backed with the robust output of 650 HP and 850Nm torque. Other outrageous specs of the car include a top speed of 305 km per hour and a strong stop capacity of reaching 100 km per hour to 0 in 33.7 meters.
Built on MLB Evo platform, Urus align with top models in luxury SUV market like Bentley Bentayga, Porsche Cayenne and Audi Q7. The Super SUV features are mileage of 12.7 liters for 100 km. It is with cylinder deactivation technique, that ensures saving fuel as per driving conditions.
A rider can select from a vast array of built-in driving modes like Strada, Sports and so on along with customizable modes. Per Stefano Domenicali, Chairman and CEO of Automobili Lamborghini, Urus “is a true Lamborghini in terms of design, performance, driving dynamics and emotion…”, as he stated in the global launch event a couple of months back.
Lamborghini, however, have no plans to coincide with India’s manufacturing initiative like Make in India. The cars will be imported as Completely Built-up Units. The brand wants to maintain exclusivity by manufacturing the car only at their Bologna Plant in Italy. Per Sharad Agarwal, head of Lamborghini India Unit, the country’s market is of strategic importance to the luxury car manufacturer. The company is expecting a growth of 748% in his sales by 2019, with Urus.
