Ducati Unveiled All New 2021 Ducati Monster

Via an online world premiere the Italian motorcycle manufacturer Ducati have unveiled the all-new 2021 Ducati Monster. This new Ducati Monster draws its DNA from the model dated back to 1993 and namely reflects what is needed to get supreme fun when riding a bike. In other words, an engine, a seat, a tank, a handlebar. Furthermore, it integrates all the elements that characterize the iconic Monster models: the bison-back-shaped tank, the round headlight and a clean tail section.

Design

The styling cues have been completely revised, and the 2021 Ducati Monster packs a leaner and an aggressive design. The front fascia features an oval-shaped headlight with an LED setup. The blinkers and the taillight, too, are LED units. Other changes include a sharp design for the fuel tank, rear panels, and the upswept exhaust canister with a slash-cut design.

The new chassis has also revised the ergonomics, and the handlebar now sits 70mm closer to the rider while the foot pegs are 10mm lower than before. The revised rider’s triangle should now be more comfortable than its predecessor. The motorcycle will be offered in three colors – Ducati Red, Dark Stealth, and Aviator Grey with GP Red wheels.

Engine

The 2021 Ducati Monster uses the Euro5-compliant 937cc, Testastretta L-twin engine that produces 111bhp of maximum power at 9,250rpm and 93Nm of peak torque at 6,500rpm. Compared to the previous Monster 821, which tuned to produce 109bhp and 86Nm. The motor is linked to a six-speed transmission.

Hardware

The 2021 Monster trades the trellis frame to a new Panigale V4-inspired aluminium chassis. The new setup is claimed to be 4.5kg lighter than the unit on the Monster 821. Weight-shedding measures also include a lighter aluminium swingarm and wheels. The motorcycle rides on Pirelli Diablo Rosso 3 tyres.

The suspension setup comprises of non-adjustable 43mm upside-down forks at the front and a preload-adjustable monoshock at the rear. Twin discs at the front and a single rotor at the back that are grabbed by Brembo-sourced callipers perform the anchoring duties.

Features

The six-speed gearbox comes standard with an anti-slip clutch and a quick shifter, while the electronic aids include three riding modes (Sport, Urban, and Touring), wheelie control, traction control, ABS, cornering ABS, and launch control. The motorcycle also features full LED lighting and a Bluetooth-ready 4.3-inch TFT display. The Bluetooth module will be sold as an optional accessory.

Expected Price

There are two variants of the motorcycle on offer – The Monster and the Monster +. While there is no difference to the variants mechanically, the bike has a few styling and design elements that have been changed to make each one stand apart. The most visible changes are the use of a small fly screen at the front and a rear seat cowl. Ducati have announced that the standard model will be priced at £10,295 and will be launched in the first quarter of 2021.
