Dubai Is Set To Unveil The World’s Largest Fountain On Oct 22

After a record of having the world's tallest building Burj Khalifa, Dubai in a bid to make a new Guinness World Record, with his latest attempt to unveil the world’s largest fountain. The fountain, also known as Palm fountain, is set to be unveiled on October 22 this year. A report by PTI noted that the fountain will be located at the Pointe which is a lifestyle and dining destination for many tourists. This installation, spread across 14,000 sqft of seawater at the Pointe waterfront, while its super shooter will be 105-metre tall and have over 3,000 LED lights is an another option to keep guests spoiled for choice at Palm Jumeirah’s entertainment boulevard, which features over 80 dining, retail and leisure options.

Citing Omar Khoory, managing director, Nakheel Malls, the report said that the new fountain will bring inspiration to the customers at The Pointe, residents of Palm Jumeirah along with their retailers, tourists and the wider community. According to Ahmed Al Khaja, CEO of Dubai Festivals and Retail Establishment (DFRE), the Palm Fountain is an incredible addition to the world-famous landmarks in Dubai, which will further draw out more visitors, and residents near the property.

This musical fountain will harness lights, water jets and a wide selection of songs ranging from Khaleeji, pop, classic, international and more. It also sets DJ to create an audio-visual spectacle.

Fun Facts:

·      The Palm Fountain’s tallest jet super shooter will be 105-metre tall in the air.

·      As many as 3,000 LED lights will create a multicoloured visual spectacle.

·      There are 20 bespoke shows that have been created with synchronised lights, music and water jets.

·      Five different shows that will run at 30-minute intervals between 7pm and midnight daily.

One of China’s largest fountain specialists Beijing Water Design Technology, Chairman, Xin Su said, “We are proud to be part of the design, build and operation of The Palm Fountain — an extraordinary feat. This project was unique for us as we had the opportunity to tackle many firsts in ingenuity.”

Shaddy Gaad, senior marketing manager--MENA, Guinness World Records (GWR) said the fountain would be a great addition to Dubai’s long list of attractions.

The report said that GWR is currently in the process of verifying the largest fountain and we look forward to hopefully seeing this world-class landmark being declared officially amazing, Gaad said.

Meanwhile, Dubai has opened its door for international visitors after the COVID-19 pandemic broke out globally. The city is also hosting many international sports players including swimmers and cricket players. The city has also come in agreement with India to form an air bubble so that people can travel back and forth within the two destinations.
