The mention of Rajasthan conjures up images of beautiful palaces, desert, marble stones, gems and jewellery. It also has some master craftsmen who have made a name for them.

Master craftsman Amit Pabuwal is the most sought-after when it comes to making trophies for mega events. This man in the Pink City of Jaipur is virtually the first choice for corporates and sports bodies when they plan a mega event. Amit has several feathers in his cap and his name finds a mention in the Guinness Book of World Records. He hogged the lime light by designing Reliance Cricket World cup, Independence Cup, Hero Cup, MRF World Cup, T20 World Cup, Wills World Cup, Friendship Cup of Abu Dhabi, Indian Oil World Cup, ICL, F1 Race trophies, and in year 2013 he designed the world's most extravagant gold trophy for the iGate CEO Cup Golf Tournament held at TPC Sawgrass Golf Course Tournament near Jacksonville, Florida. It is the world’s biggest and most expensive gold trophy ever made, bigger than the FIFA gold cup.

Jaipur craftsman Amit Pabuwal the world’s biggest gold trophy designer

Amit and his wife, Kiran, have made the 21-inch tall trophy in 18 days after bagging the contract for it beating off several big names in the world. The trophy is weighing 8.6 kg of pure gold and has a unique modern form with Victorian effect studded with 50 carats of equally sized diamonds and 40 carats of rubies sourced from Thailand.

The trophy has a green interior that adds to its vibrancy and denotes the course. The central portion has the golf ball shaped diamonds stand on a pedestal at the top, and a map of the United States with the company logo in ruby at the bottom.

Before making this record he holds the Guinness record for making the world’s biggest silver trophy using 92 kg of silver and 20,000 carets of precious and semi-precious stones.

Amit is not alone in this business but the whole family – his wife Kiran and their two sons Akshat and Arihand-- help him in this creative venture. His 18-year-old son Akshat Pabuwal also finds a place in the Limca Book of Records for constructing the largest ashtray in the world. Designed in the shape of World Health Organisation’s “World No Tobacco Day” symbol, the ashtray weighs about 60 kg and is 12 inches high with a flower in one corner. It seems this family is here to create and break records.
