Still, a rare bidding in the recent IPL tournament of India showed times are still not that bad and people with passion still working fine. Aryaman Birla is a little-known name in the great world of cricket. Still, he is making headline not only for his cricketing instance winning him the maiden buy in the tournament, but because of his stature as the son of one of biggest business tycoons of India, and yet forging the pathway on his passion for the game, all by himself.

Kumar Mangalam Birla, father of Aryaman Birla, has a net worth of about USD 12.7 Billion. Taking over Chairmanship of the Aditya Birla Group in 1995, he is the person behind the burgeoning turnover from USD 3.33 Billion in 1995 to USD 41 Billion in 2015. On the other hand, Aryaman Birla, has been playing in domestic circuit of the country since his tender age. In Ranji Trophy, the 20 years old cricketer has been playing for Madhya Pradesh. He moved to the team from Mumbai before three years, as he did not get enough opportunities with the latter.

In the recent IPL bidding, Aryaman was set at the price of 20 lakhs. It was Rajasthan Royals, the IPL franchisee, that brought the player for INR 30 Lakh or barely USD 5000. The team picked him up because of his strong performance in the CK Nayadu Trophy. In the tournament, he scored 795 runs batting in 11 innings. His average in the tournament was 79.50. Being hired by Rajasthan Royals, now the player will align himself with big cricketers like Steven Smith.

Aryaman is the heir of a family business which is being handed down through generations. He is the fifth generation of the Birla family, after his father Kumar Mangalam Birla. In the auction, son of another Indian billionaire, Akash Ambani was bidding for players from the dais. Akash Ambani is the son of Mukesh Ambani, the owner shareholder of Reliance Industries Limited. The Ambanis own the IPL team named Mumbai Indians.

Earlier, a diamond merchant Savji Dhanji Dholakia, another billionaire from Gujarat was on limelight for a sheer simplicity to make his son learn about life. Dravya Dholakia, his son was sent anonymously to work and earn on his own without any assistance of his billionaire father. He was rejected from 60 jobs before getting a job in a bakery and finally working up at call center, at a shoe shop and even at McDonalds.
