A modernist-style resort designed with a village-like layout of one-story volumes.

Built on a hillside in Crete, Greece, the third Casa Cook hotel follows the brand’s blend of laid-back comfort and high-end design. To complete the resort, Greek architecture firm K-Studio collaborated with Berlin-based architecture and design studio Lambs and Lions. Interior stylist Annabell Kutucu also worked on the project. Casa Cook Chania draws inspiration from modernist architecture; designed with a village-like layout, it features 106 one-story villas that cantilever on the sloped site in a descending formation that leads to the sea.

Using modernist-inspired architecture Casa cook chania a series of brutalist structures clad in smooth concrete and timber, softened by the lush tropical softscape and woven cane outdoor furnishings. a muted palette of warm hues, combined with textured local stone and mid-century inspired furniture create an atmosphere of laid-back luxury. Interior elements incorporate a mix of stone, dark timber, earthy textured linens and rattan weaves, that create a relaxed private sanctuary for each guest. The architectural language of the buildings set along the coastline, including the beach club, concept store and pool transition to a bolder, more brutalist aesthetic, better prepared for the exposure to the sea and salt air.

This ‘Piazza’ arrangement houses the hotel restaurant, bar, boutique, and art house alongside the pool and lounging area. A genuinely playful and adventurous Kids Club is raised, secured, and protected from the sun so that the majority of the activities can take place outside. Further back a yoga pavilion and wellness zone make the most of the greenest part of the site offering open-air spa treatments and early morning yoga sessions.

However, just because it is a family-friendly resort, it doesn't mean that it has to look like a family-friendly resort. You'll find the resort has been expertly designed with a warm style that merges minimalist mid-century modernism with thoughtful and practical design. Each of the handcrafted rooms and suites feel earthy and organic, like a home away from home, perfect for both families and friends.

There are seven room types in the resort that range from a modest Garden View Double room to a larger Junior Suite that comes with a shared swimming pool and all the way up to the super exclusive Presidential Villas.

The focus on 'family' continues in the activities with clubs for the kids: cooking classes, painting workshops, sleepover experience in a teepee. Meanwhile, parents can relax with a yoga class or an energising massage.
