The legendary baggy green cap reads No.350, as the leg-spinner is the 350th player to play for the Australian Test side and was worn by him throughout his 145-test where he took 708 wickets for the Australian team. Thousands of people have bid on this cap of Shane Warne for Good Cause, including former England team captain Michael Vaughan. Vaughan had bid for this cap of 25,000 dollars.

There was a bidding frenzy for Warne’s baggy green on Thursday night as two keen combatants went blow for blow to push the amount from $650,500 at 9.20pm to north of $850,000 by 11pm — and they resumed hostilities just after 7am on Friday to drive it even higher, surging past the $1 million mark. The top bidder ‘MC from Sydney’ was later revealed to be Commonwealth Bank chief executive officer Matt Comyn. Commonwealth Bank CEO Matt Comyn said he was “delighted” to have won the auction, supporting the bushfire appeal. “I am delighted that CBA has been able to secure Shane’s cherished Baggy Green cap,” Comyn said in a statement.
