Princess Beatrice of York and Property Tycoon Mr. Edoardo Mapelli Mozzi have officially tied the knot in small private ceremony at the Royal Chapel of All Saints at Royal Lodge, Windsor on Friday 17^th July.

Princess wears the Queen Elizabeth II dress and Tiara for her big Day but there was a very special hidden story behind the Princess Beatrice wedding day tiara.

We all know that the tiara is particularly significant because Queen Elizabeth II herself wore this on her big day, 1947 and Princess Beatrice is 2^nd in the row.  

Queen Mary in 1919, created this tiara from one of her necklace by the jewellers House of Garrard. This customary necklace had been gifted to Queen Mary by Queen Victoria who had herself received it as a wedding gift in 1893.

The Queen Elizabeth II has some upsetting memories with Diamond fringe wedding Tiara.

Queen Mary gave the historical piece to the Queen Mother in 1936, and it became then 'something borrowed'  to Princess Elizabeth when she married to Philip Mountbatten in 1947.

But unfortunately, on the morning of Queen’s big day things didn't go as expected, just two hours before the wedding was due to start the tiara has become notorious for the near tragedy that reportedly befell it on the day of the queen’s wedding. When tiara was placed upon Princess head, it snapped in half as the hairdresser was fixing Elizabeth's veil, and was rushed to famed jeweller Garrard’s London shop (the tiara was made in 1919 by Garrard). The Queen Mother managed to remain calm and reportedly reminded her upset daughter "there are still two hours and there are other tiaras." Luckily it returned in time for the queen to walk down the aisle at Westminster Abbey.

Some people claim that you can see the tiara looks slightly wonky in some of the pictures from the day, but we think it looked perfect.

Royal writer Penny Junor said: "It's really touching that the Queen showed such solidarity with her, especially with the tiara that she herself was married in speaks volumes.

"I think it shows how fond her grandparents are of her, it's really heart warming."

Legacy - The stunning “Queen Mary Fringe” was originally commissioned by Queen Mary, using diamonds gifted to her by Queen Victoria.
