Necker Island
Richard Branson (Founder of the Virgin Group) bought the island for a modest $320,000 in 1978, when he was 28 years old. He went on to build one of the most exclusive resorts in the world on Necker Island. It is a private island resort in the British Virgin Islands composed of a collection of Balinese-style abodes, set on 74 acres with a fringing coral reef, submarine available for charter and a 32-person Jacuzzi among the diversions. Renting out the island for a night will cost you at least $77,500 per night. High-profile vacationers who've stayed on this island include Barack and Michelle Obama, Princess Diana, Oprah Winfrey, Mariah Carey, Kate Moss, and even Nelson Mandela. Google co-founder Larry Page had his wedding there.
Musha Cay
In 2006, the world’s greatest current magician, David Copperfield, spend $50 million for a 100-acre, lamb-shank-shaped island in the Bahamas called Musha Cay. After five years, Copperfield completed what he calls the "most magical vacation destination in the world" by spending $40 million in remodeling work. One can enjoy large amount of amenities, including an outdoor theater, a private speedboat, and beachside daybeds.
