C Two is all sold out! Rimac Automobili expands as Hyper-car tech producer
Before 8 years, Croatia based company Rimac Automobili debuted the automotive industry with alternative powered electric trains. Now, the company is producing some of the best super cars in world. In Geneva Motor Show, lately in March, it introduced C Two, the flagship Hyper-car. With its high-end specifications, the two-seater car is already a big hit. It has a top speed of 256 mph boosted with an engine of more than 1,900 hp. The car takes only 1.85 seconds to reach 60 mph from 0.
Rimac C Two had a price tag of USD 2 million. In the first phase, the company will produce only 150 such machines and each of them is sold out within a week of the exhibition. The production will start in 2020. Founder Mate Rimac disclosed that the car will feature Level 4 self-driving capability. It is accompanied by an inbuilt “drift mode” that allows high speed drifting. With eight cameras, a LIDAR, twelve ultrasonic sensors and six radars, the hyper car has an efficient intelligent traction control system. Facial recognition system and personalized car settings are other high-tech ensembles.
Aston Martin and Koenigsegg have been using technology from Rimac Automobili. In fact, the company is also providing technology to brands like Jaguar Land Rover and Renault. Rimac developed the hybrid battery system used in Aston Martin Valkyrie. The Jaguar E-Type Zero driven by Prince Harry and Meghan Markle has the electric drive train system from Rimac. At the latest, the company is also set to partner with Porsche as the technology supplier. The German supercar brand announced its purchase of 10% stake in Rimac.
Developing groundbreaking expertise, the company is growing as the new leader in hyper-car technology. It is backed by other big brands in terms of investments. Camel Group, the largest battery maker of Asia, also has stakes in Rimac. In 2017, the group invested about 37 million USD. Earlier, the company’s first model, the Concept One, broke in as the fastest electric vehicle in commercial production. C Two is the second flagship car by the company.
